Another high performance shoe created by the world leading manufacturer of cycling shoes Sidi is the Sidi Charger Boots. These are ideal for motocross racers and motorcyclists. Though not at the very elite end of Sidi’s product range, they combine great support, sense and excellence without any sacrificing of style. If you’re looking for an off-road boot there is few out there that compare.
The boot features three different extended rib supports in the rea of the book which assists the riders with making their up shifts. The unyielding and resistant to shock boot heel provides very strong protection. Each Sidi Charger boot consists of one continuous, tailor made outer rather than incorporating separate inner boots. There is a cushioned liner inside which can be removed. This ensures that the boot is as light as a strong motor cycling boot can be. The boots use a mixture of a split grain alongside the full grain leather, with high tensile plastic inserts. This system allies flexibility with strength.
The buckle system on this shoe is one of its best features. Though fairly complicated for anyone unfamiliar with it, the cam-lock system is extremely effective. Precision tuning is coupled with instant tightening, and the boot will fit very tightly to the leg. What’s more, the straps only need to be adjusted very rarely due to the ‘strap memory retention system’.
There is a plastic cover at the toe tip which protects the bottom materials and seams from wear and tear, and the top of every foot spot is covered by shift and brake lever guards. Other useful features of the Sidi Charger are the Heat Shields and the other replaceable parts. All of the boots are equipped with a heat resistant undressed protection panel made up of leather which is aligned with the stature of most motorcycles’ heat shields.
An important factor of any boot is the quality of its waterproofing. Sidi Chargers use a Teflon breathable lining which ensures that any water coming over the top of the boot will not be retained. These boots will also dry out a lot quicker than most other boots. It is hard to find fault with the Sidi Charger. It a highly recommended boot for any off roaders.
